He Shoots, He Scores

Getting ready to shoot

"Air Harry"

"No more picture until I talk to my agent"

Hooray!

Winding up for the pitch
It was a beautiful Oklahoma day today so Harry and I played outside after lunch. He played in the sandbox, played basketball, chased Ruby around the yard with a stick, and went down the slide a couple times. Nice weather - 60 degrees - not what you would expect for the end of December. This morning we had our follow up appointment for Harrison's surgery earlier this month. He passed his hearing screen and the tubes in his ears seem to be working great. He's still recovering from the adenoidectomy, but is definitely feeling better. He did so well for Dr Richards, that he got two stickers. Of course he chose a fire truck and an Elmo sticker - no surprise there, right? We don't have to go back until next September, granted we don't have any problems before then. Hopefully, this will be all he needed.

Big Boy Bed

Sleeping like a big boy

Harry's Big Boy Bed
Well, over the holiday season, Harrison climbed out of the pack and play at Grandma's (several times) and decided to try it in his own crib when we got home. No surprise to us, he was able to climb out of his crib and happily greeted me at his door. We decided it was time to transition Harry's crib to the toddler bed. He has taken to it very well. He seems so proud about his "big boy bed" and has been sleeping well for the last 4 days. For being such a "high needs" baby, he sure has made some things easy on us. For example, he gave up the pacifier on his own, he was a snap to wean off breastfeeding, it took me about 2 days to realize he hadn't had a bottle so we were done with that as well. Now he always has been a good sleeper and slept through the night, I guess I just expected more of a battle of the wills with his newfound freedom. Maybe Joe and I are doing something right with this little, eh....cherub.

MERRY CHRISTMAS BABY!

Opening his stocking - cars, play doh, stickers, books

More trucks & fire engines

ELMO!

Harry and his "Horsey"
Harrison's "BIG" Christmas present
Merry Christmas! We've had a blessed morning in the Glover house. Harrison had so much fun opening presents this morning. This boy absolutely can't get enough cars and trucks. He also got the new Elmo that sings songs and tell jokes and stories. It's a little robot that interacts with Harry. He gave him a hug and carried him around the house (I guess that means he likes it). But his big present from Santa Claus has been the real hit. He saw the horse by the tree this morning and said "Horsey". He just says "Yee Haw" and rides the horse. We'll have to buy him some boots and a cowboy hat. Hope everyone is having as much fun today as Harry is - love you all!

Getting Ready for Christmas

Such a Character!

Reindeer Cookies for the Party

Santa's Little Helper

Best Present Ever - HARRY!

Harry's BIG Truck

Harry has had a busy week getting ready for Christmas. We went to Enid to celebrate Christmas with my family last weekend. I think the christmas cookies were his favorite. Harry got some tractors, clothes, and "Tatoe Head" as Harry calls him. We all had a fun time. As soon as we got back from Enid, we packed off to another Christmas celebration at Uncle Chuck & Aunt Cindy's house. Once again, great food and lots of presents. Harry's fave would still have to be the cookies from Grandpa. This boy loves cookies.
Then Monday Harry's Day Care had a Christmas Party. Harry helped me make reindeer cookies (well, he mostly ate M&Ms). They turned out really cute and were super easy. He saw Santa Claus at the party and got a little drum/shape sorter, a motorcycle and an orange. He wasn't as scared of Santa this time. He wouldn't give him a hug or sit on his lap, but he did say, "Thank you, Santa." Last night we went to a Christmas Party with Joe's side of the family. Harry was so excited to receive this Dump Truck from Uncle Duff & Aunt Margie. As he opened the box he said, "Holy Moly." (not sure where he learned that one - we'll blame it on Daddy.)

Shh...don't tell Daddy

Don't tell Daddy what we do all day while he's at work. Let him think we are busy cleaning the house and coloring pretty pictures.

Sleeping in Daddy's bed, lets hit the snooze button again.

Daddy, we must have a mouse. I don't know how else your pillow
got crumbs and sticky apple juice.

One little monkey jumping on the bed.

Building towers naked, makes a little boy feel so free.

Time to get dressed before Daddy gets home. Sorry Daddy,
I haven't seen your shoes, must be that mouse again.

Christmas Party

Daddy and Harry making ornaments.

Picking out a present.

He chose a Christmas Puppy!

Mommy & Harry modeling the Santa Hat.

His first visit on Santa's lap - kinda scary.

Mercy had the Children's Christmas Party today and since Harry was feeling great, we decided to introduce him to Santa Claus. Although he thought Santa was a little scary(OK a lot scary, he jumped off his lap and ran to Daddy's arms crying) he did however enjoy the candy cane from Old St Nick. We also made a gingerbread man and a Jolly ornament. Harrison also made a Santa hat, that much to our surprise, he wore most of the day. They had some Christmas games and you could even write a letter to Santa. Harry won some stickers (with Daddy's help) throwing balls at a stack of presents and knocking them over. At the end of the party he was allowed to pick one present. Joe and I tried to push the frog or lion, but no, Harry picked out the puppy dog. Puppies are OK, but that's really all he has. We wanted something different. I guess it is his present after all.

Feeling so much better!
Harrison had another set of tubes placed in his ears and his adenoids removed yesterday. He is doing well and seems to be feeling a lot better. He had a little versed (conscious sedation) before his surgery and he just giggled and smiled. It was quite entertaining for Joe and myself. The surgery was very quick, he was probably gone for about 30 minutes. He was very upset and inconsolable afterwards. We weren't sure if it was from the anesthesia or if he was in pain, so he got a little dose of fentanyl to help calm him down. That was the hardest part for us. Joe and I just took turns holding him, rocking him, even crying with him. It was rough to see our baby in so much distress. The fentanyl seemed to help. He slept on my chest for about 30 minutes and then started to arouse. The nurse took out his IV and let us take him home. (Props to everyone at Mercy, they were wonderful!) He was cranky the whole way home and then Joe rocked him to sleep when we got here. He slept for a few hours and then woke up ready for lunch. He was playful and seemed to have his normal appetite. As you can tell by the last picture, he feels like his old self again. We wanted to give him a treat so he had some McDonalds french fries (a fave) and then he spent some time entertaining us with the bag on his head. Very funny!

Gobble Gobble

Harrison's artwork from daycare. We absolutely LOVE Ms. Roxie and Ms. Susie. They are wonderful and Harrison has been having so much fun and learning quite a bit. Here he made little turkey hands and a little pilgrim Harry on his foot.

Another little craft from daycare - the blondest little Indian you'll ever see.

Harrison's pouty lip.

Helping mom with the holiday baking. This is his first time to lick the beaters and let me tell you, this little sweet tooth loved it.

Yum Yum Yum

I can't believe it's already the holiday season. Time sure has gone by quickly. On behalf of the Glover Family, we want to wish you all a blessed Thanksgiving. We are so grateful to have such wonderful family and friends. Joe and I are especially thankful for such a handsome, sweet little boy. He brings so much joy and laughter to our lives. Hope everyone has a delicious meal tomorrow - remember, calories don't count on the holiday...

It's Fall...

Cheer for the Minnesota Twins!

1...2...3 Monkeys!
Joe and Harry took me to the Zoo last week for my birthday. It was a beautiful morning and the animals were very entertaining. We met a very talkative Donkey that Harry thought was quite amusing. He also spent most of the day asking about the monkeys. He even woke up later that day from his nap and asked about the monkeys.

Happy Halloween Tigger!
Harry enjoyed halloween this year. We went to about 10 houses and filled his little pumkin full of candy. I think M&Ms are his favorite.

Loving the slide

CHEESE!

Aunt Christi and I took the boys to play at Fun Zone one rainy day last week. I think the pictures speak for themselves.

Chester's Pumpkin Patch

he loved the pony ride

getting tired of the hayride

enjoyed the corn maze

what little boy doesn't love a great big pile of sand and a dump truck

wheelbarrow race with Daddy

Joe and I took some vacation time this week, so today we went to Chester's Pumpkin Patch in Piedmont (about 20 minutes from our house). There was alot to see and do for a reasonable price. Harrison loved the pony ride! He didn't want to stop. There was also a petting zoo with some goats, chickens, cows, horses, and rabbits. We bowled with pumpkins (Mommy got a strike). Daddy roped a steer with a little help from Harry. We took a hayride to the other side of the farm and walked through a corn maze. It was fun, not too long. Then Harrison played in a giant pile of sand with a bulldozer and a dumptruck. There was a pretty big slide that Daddy and Harry tumbled down. It was kinda fast, I have to admit I fell on my hiney a time or two. Next, Harry and Daddy had a little wheelbarrow race. Finally, we picked out some "sugar pie" pumpkins to take home. Gotta love beautiful weather and vacation days.

Playing at the Park

1...2...3...Whee!

wild hair from static electricity

riding the bouncy car

more fun sliding

taking a moment to take it all in

It was a beautiful Oklahoma day, so we headed off to the park for the afternoon. Harrison usually loves the swings, but today he played more on the slides. Daddy and Harry even tumbled down a giant grass hill. Unfortunately, no pictures of that. I was too busy laughing at Joe rolling down a hill, moaning as he went, and trying to keep a hold on Harry so he didn't tumble too fast. Fun, fun afternoon.
