Gotta Love Mom's Day!!

mmmm...mmmm...mmmm
Made a pretty flower for Mommy

My little "sweetie -heart"

Wheeeee

Mother's Day 2009
I can't believe the month of May is almost over!! We've had a fun month. For Mother's Day, Joe took me out for a night downtown. We had dinner at a nice Italian place, Trattoria's , and then we saw the Broadway play - The Lion King. It was AWESOME! We had seats in the orchestra by the aisle so all the animals walked right by. It was so cool.
Harrison made a really cute card with his handprint and a picture. The boys also gave me a stone for the garden with Harry's handprints and some tile. Very nice! Harry made a pretty little planter with a little pink flower (He knows I love pink!) Actually, he has learned that if I'm busy around the house he can usually get me to play with him by bribing me with something pink. It's just too cute. For example...
H- Mama, mama...want to color?
K - No buddy, mommy's making dinner.
H - Mama, mama...want to color?
K - Not right now, Mommy's busy.
This goes on a few more times before he gets up and walks over to me. He puts his sweet little hand on my leg and says, "Mama, want to color with the pink?" He just looks straight into my eyes to my heart - how can I resist those baby blues.

Playtime with Sophie

Yummy Popsicles
Just chillin

Play Ball

Running through the sprinklers

Splish Splash

Harry's cousin Sophie came over to play yesterday afternoon. It was actually a sunny day for once in Oklahoma so they were able to play in the water outside. (Don't pay attention to the weeds in the yard. We've had ALOT of rain so Joe has been slacking on the weed control and mowing duties.) Anyway, Harry showed Sophie how to hit the baseball off the tee and she was actually really good (must get that from her Daddy, right Chuck?) They ate popsicles and played in the sandbox. Seems like they had a fun day! And as always, our fun meter is determined by how early Harry will go to bed - 45 minutes earlier, Yeah for playtime with Sophie!!

Tummy Bug 2009 Update

Harry put cars on the drawer handles and told them to, "sit cars"

A close up of Harry's garage

His "cheese" face

Well, after sleeping 40 hours (yes, you heard that right 40) Harry is starting to feel better today. His fever is down and he is starting to eat little things like half a banana or a few bites of applesauce. He's actually been up a little bit playing and coloring. Huge improvement from the last couple days. I definitely think he would have ended up in the hospital if Joe and I hadn't been so diligent about keeping his fever under control and keeping him hydrated. He showed some signs of dehydration : rapid heartbeat (168), extremely tired/groggy, only 1 wet diaper in 24 hours, dry lips, fever. But, kudos to us for being such awesome parents! We're so glad to see that sparkle in his eyes and that precious smile back on his face. Harry was very happy to have Grandma stop in to check on him today as well. Thanks again to everyone for calling and sending little prayers our way.

Poor Little Sick Guy

not feeling so well...

Eating a few bites of a Pedialyte Popsicle

Poor little Harry has caught some stomach bug. He woke us up in the middle of the night to tell us "Harry burped", which we now understand to be "barfed" in toddler language. We all had a rough night - between Harry's upset stomach, trying to comfort him, cleaning the floors, and doing 3 loads of laundry - nobody got much sleep.
He has spent the majority of the day laying on the ground or rocking in the chair with me. He just moans and can't seem to get comfortable. He is really breaking our hearts. He's just not feeling well at all. He lifted his shirt and pointed to his belly button and said, "my belly hurts". He is on some anti-nausea meds and tylenol for the fever - the diarhhea will just have to run it's course. As long as his fever doesn't stay consistently high and I can keep getting some sips of fluid in him, we won't have to go to the hospital. Poor little guy! Please say a prayer for our little buddy's speedy recovery.

Cool new shades and a big ball

Hunting for eggs
Harrison had a wonderfully fun Easter this year. We spent Saturday in Enid with my family, hunting Easter Eggs, eating delicious food, and don't forget the yummy sweets! Then Sunday was a busy day of Easter fun at our house before Mass and more food and family at Grandma Gerry's. Harry's starting to get really good at this Easter Egg business. Then in the afternoon it was off to Uncle Duff and Aunt Margie's for some more yummy food and yet another Easter egg hunt. Harrison had so much fun and is really enjoying the candy. Actually, when I got out of the shower this morning Harry came running into my room and said, "I can't reach it." Which our normal reply is, "Good, you probably don't need to be playing with it." So after I finished getting dressed, I walked out to the kitchen to find Harry and Ruby sitting on the kitchen floor. He had pulled down his basket and was helping himself to all the candy and eggs - with Ruby getting her fair share too. All that sugar before 9:00 am, he must be my son after all.

S-N-O-W part II

More fun in the snow followed by an ice cream cone. Harrison's never going to want to come home - he's having so much fun!!

S-N-O-W

We couldn't have picked a better time for me to have surgery. As you can see from the pictures, Harrison is having a great time at Mor Mor's house in Enid. They got around 5 inches of fluffy, white snow. He's having a blast! I'm also glad he's able to make use of the snowboots and jacket. This is really his first time to play in the snow. Mor Mor sent him out to get the paper and then she pulled him around the yard on the sled. Later, Grandpa helped him make a snowman and "Manny" (mom's dog Mattie) pushed Harry in the snow. He has been telling us all about it over the phone. Joe and I are a little jealous that we're missing out on all the fun, but really enjoy hearing the excitment in Harry's voice as he tells us over the phone.
