It's Finally Christmas!!

Gifts from Santa
Oh Wow..a Big Wheel

We had a crazy Christmas this year...thanks to the Blizzard of '09, nothing went according to plan. I got stuck at the hospital (can't abandon sick babies) and stayed the night at "Hotel Mercy". Joe finally made it home from work after 4 1/2 hrs of driving and pushing other cars. His car got stuck in our heighborhood and he walked the rest of the way home :( Harrison stayed the night at Uncle Chuck & Aunt Cindy's. We can't thank them enough for taking him in as one of their own and giving him a wonderful Christmas, Santa Claus and all. So, we finally all made it together around noon on Christmas Day. Joe and I decided to just pretend it was Christmas morning when Harrison woke up from his nap that afternoon.
Sooooo...after his nap, Harrison came into the living room to see what Santa had brought for him. He was so excited to see the Big Wheel that he hopped right on and started riding around the living room. He opened present after present and as you can tell from the pics, his energy started to fade. We definitely over did it yet again. But hey, he's our only child so we have to spoil him :) Here are some of the presents he received this year - Preschool Board Games, Toy Story figures, Cars & Racetracks, Little Einsteins Rocket, Musical Keyboard, Football, and of course, candy and popcorn (a few of his faves).

The Art of Eating Spaghetti

Slluuurrrpp!

Giggle Giggle

Harrison has mastered the art of slurping his spaghetti noodles. I usually cut his noodles so they aren't so long, but alas, I forgot tonight. As soon as Joe slurped his noodles, the game was on and Harrison loved it! He would just laugh and smile with anticipation. I think spaghetti might be a new favorite in my toddler's eyes.

The 3 Musketeers - Harry, Caden and Carter

Opening presents

A Fire Engine - Thanks Lexi!!

ROAR! A dinosaur from Ms Roxi and Mrs Susan.

Harry showing off his dinosaur to his girlfriend Kate.

Singing Happy Birthday to Jesus!

Saturday was the Christmas Party with Harrison's daycare. He had a great time, heck Joe and I even had alot of fun. It was so fun to see him play with his friends and actually put faces to the names we hear every night in his prayers. It was also amazing to see our kid actually listen and follow directions from Ms Roxi (love her!!)
As you can see, Harrison was still a little skeptical of Santa but he pulled it together and sat on his lap. We ate lots of yummy food and even had Birthday cake for baby Jesus. Harry got a cool fire engine and a dinosaur that walks and roars. It was really fun!

Shocking...

Fun with static electricity

We were at Sam's, and Harry walked into the women's coats,
and came out, well, as you can see,
in desperate need of some conditioner and humidified air!

Third times a charm, right?!?

Playing with the farm animals in the waiting room

Pacing in the room waiting his turn

Such a cute little patient

Almost ready to go

Quick snuggle from Daddy

Mmm...a candy cane!

and a puppy on a leash, thanks Mor Mor!
Friday morning Harrison had surgery for his THIRD (yes, 3rd) set of eustachian tubes. He did awesome!! We had to be there at 6 so he was a little tired and hungry but was such a good boy. He played with his toys and we read books until it was his turn. We just told him Dr Richards was going to look in his ears again and make them all better. He walked back to the OR with the nurse and looked absolutely adorable in his little patient gown and slippers and his Cubbies blanket thrown over his shoulder. He smiled at us and waved as the doors shut, melted our hearts.
The whole procedure took about 10 minutes and they carried his sleepy self back to us and let us hold him while he woke up. Thank God he didn't have to go recovery. It was so much more pleasant for him to wake up in our arms. He was a little whiney and groggy, but we got him dressed and were home by 8:30. Of course Daddy stopped and got the poor boy a donut, he hadn't eaten anything since dinner the night before :)
Dr Richards said he was the best patient of all time. He said Harry waved at him when he got to the OR and just kinda looked at the pillow they told him to lay his head on and shrugged his shoulders like, OK, and laid down. I can just see the look on his sweet little face. Good thing we had the tubes placed again since both ears were still infected and we had just finished the antibiotics 2 days prior.
Harry bounced back quickly and his been so happy today. He is definitely feeling better and probably enjoying the spoiling from us. Mor Mor sent him a candy cane (a favorite) and a little puppy that barks and walks. Thanks again to all for the prayers and well wishes. It truley means alot to us.

Christmas is in the air

Harry painted a tree with a handprint star

Countdown to Christmas

Eyes on Santa Claus

Checking out the decorations

Harry painted a tree this year and we stapled rings to it so he could countdown to Christmas. Every night before bed he pulls one link off the chain and then we count the days until Christmas. Every night he gets a smile on his face and says,"it's getting closer". Can't wait for Christmas this year, it'll be such a fun age for him.
We also went to the Mercy(my work) Children's Christmas party on Saturday. Harry picked out a candy cane and we made a snowman picture frame. He also picked out a Giraffe stuffed animal for his gift. As you can see, he wasn't too sure of Santa. He just stared him down while we waited in line. When it was his turn, he didn't want to sit on his lap, but instead hid behind my leg. He peered around my leg and gave Santa a high five, but that was about the extent of his interaction with the jolly old man. Oh well, maybe next year.
